Brian and I don't go the the movies often because it is so insanely expensive. This past weekend, we went to our first movie of the year in theaters. We went to see Eclipse. We went to a theater in New York, since the theater in our town is known for being dirty and noisy. We ended up at the theater in Battery Park, which was a little bit difficult to get to because of the construction around Ground Zero. The theater itself was great, although a little weird. It was in a building with a hotel and several shops, and you needed to take several escalators up to get to the theater portion of the building. The theater itself though was clean and comfortable, and staff patrolled the theater during the movie so all was quiet.

After the show, we took a very short walk (about 1 block) to the edge of the Hudson River to look at Jersey City. Jersey City isn't nearly as big at NYC, but it is one of the largest in New Jersey (#3 I think), so it has a decent'sized downtown. Here are a couple pictures of our current hometown:

In the upper left of the top picture, you can see just the corner of the ferry building. There is a commuter ferry that runs from downtown Jersey City to downtown Manhattan that uses this building. Also in the top building, you can see a giant clock directly left of the tallest building (the Colgate Clock, from when the Colgate factory was in Jersey City). That is Jersey City telling Manhattan what time it is! (Brian was not amused by this, but I hope some of you are.) The building directly to the right of the clock is the tallest building in New Jersey (Goldman-Sachs Bldg).
