Unfortunately, we had someone break into the apartment tonight. We were out with friends for dinner and on our way home our security company called to say that the alarm had been tripped. The person knocked out part of our back door and came in but appears to have left when the alarm sounded. For now, I put the back door panel on and took a few other safety steps I won't describe here. It doesn't look like they took anything and we are fine, so I guess we mark this as a close call and no more.

I'm glad you were not home. Your security system worked just as it should have though - so that is good news. Will your landlord replace your door?
Thanks for all the flower updates as well - you guys are turning into serious gardeners.
