Well, we do use patterns. But the tricky part for me is carving out little holes without breaking other pieces off. Brian carved the first two pumpkins shown in their own pictures, and I carved the next two. He is especially proud of the second one because he designed the pattern himself. In general, I like my skull better. But the tiny jack-o-lantern that the headless horseman is holding was very tricky. The pads of my fingers were sore for days after carving all the tiny details.

The only part of mine I particulary like is the bio-hazard symbol because I didn't think it would come out at all.
