Since David asked about the mock digs in a comment, here is a little more info about them. Above is a picture of one of the sites we made before it is buried for the kids to excavate. You can see a firepit on the right (circle of stones) with ash and burnt bones in it.

This picture is from Nathan's school. You can see that we got to dig in actual dirt instead of sand, which is easier in some ways. Here people are digging out a rectangular hole for us to lay the site into.

I know there is a lack of pictures of myself, but that is because I took these pictures.
